I have just been sent a nice letter from Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne inviting me to be a witness before the new All-Party Parliamentary Group on Foreign Affairs when it launches its first inquiry into UK foreign policy.

Any ideas on what I should say? (And no, NC, I am not going to denounce everything we do in and around the Balkans as reflecting the fact that we are really ill-disguised psychotic Islamofascist Nazis. That’s a view. Just not mine.)

I previously gave evidence to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee about the Balkans. My contribution was praised in the final report, even if I was too optimistic about post-Milosevic Serbia.
