President Tadic has hinted that Serbia will contemplate partition of Kosovo if "every other possibility is exhausted".
Oops.
What he meant to say was that he was not suggesting partition, merely mentioning a purely hypothetical possibility.
If all other possibilities are exhausted.
Hypothetically speaking.
Down the road Montenegro is being squeezed by the Brits, Americans and most Europeans to recognise Kosovo’s independence.
And by Russia and different Montenegro factions not to do so.
Answer? No rush to decide:
"Montenegro’s recognition of Kosovo will take place when conditions for that are met, and we have yet to see when that will be: in a day or two, in a year or two, or in 30 years".
Will some countries which have recognised Kosovo go back on that if the ICJ eventually comes down on the Serbia side of the argument?
Always a pleasure to look at the cool, rational world of Balkan politics as compared to the world’s financial markets.
