My former boss Sir Emyr Jones Parry was put forward to be the new High Representative in Bosnia.

But there seems to be a problem. The Russians are unhappy with him, plus the Americans are unhappy with another EU candidate Valentin Inzko from Austria.

Poor Bosnia. And Herzegovina.

And indeed poor EU – two good candidates, both out of favour with the BlackballingBig Boys.

The indignity of it all.

While the EU reels under this double US/Russia whammy, at least the Americans are leaning hard on Republika Srpska to stop chirruping about independence.

Maybe the new Democrat Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington has a guilty conscience about some murky US contacts  with war crimes indictee Ratko Mladic after Bosnian hostilities ended – when they did not arrest him?

Who was US President presiding over those policy decisions and hugging a Serb ICTY indictee?

It’s all coming back to me…
