An alert reader points out that I mischaracterised the ringing words of Edit Herczog in the European Parliament, as she compared UKIP’s Nigel Farage MEP to a tree-ascending monkey revealing its bottom for all to behold.
She did not say Mr Farage, I’d like to say something, Hungarian quotation for you, it’s good that you are here because if the monkey goes up to the tree it’s better seen how that is his popo (sic)
… but rather (emphasis added)
Mr Farage, I’d like to say something, Hungarian quotation for you, it’s good that you are here because if the monkey goes up to the tree it’s better seen how red is his popo (sic)
We are pointed towards a lively looking Hungarian blog Kepviselo Funky to see (and hear) for ourselves.
Plus (I am told) the Hungarian saying she quoted does not exist! Shame on her for abusing the European Parliament in this way.
Accuracy is All.
